What is Yore Finery?

  • Yore is an online shoppe specializing in historically-inspired clothing and accessories, with the goal of bringing the beauty of historical fashion into everyday life. 
  • We offer three ways to shop - Curated (New) Pieces, Vintage and Upcycled (Secondhand) Pieces, and Handmade (Custom) Pieces. Mix and match to create a truly unique historically-inspired wardrobe!
  • We are woman-owned, and run by a small team of two + several part-time contributors. Read more about Yore here.

Where are you located?

  • We are based on the Central Coast of California, where all of our pieces are curated and shipped from our private studio.
  • As a small business, we do not have any physical store locations as of yet!

What are your hours of operation?

  • We are typically available Monday-Friday between the hours of 10am and 6pm.

How can I contact you?

  • We are reachable by email via our contact page.
  • Please allow 24 hours for a response on business days, and 48 hours for a response on weekends or holidays.

 

Our Products

Do you have a general size chart?

  • We do not have one standard size chart for all items.
  • Each size of every item in our shop is hand-measured to ensure an accurate fit for our customers, and each product has it's own size chart.
  • Please read the description of the item you are interested in for a detailed understanding of it's size and fit.

What is a Curated Item?

  • "Curated" items are brand new pieces produced and curated for typical retail sale. 
  • We get our curated items from manufacturers and suppliers all around the world.
  • Some items are custom made for us based on our designs / ideas, while others are purchased from manufacturers or brand suppliers for resale.

What is a Handmade Item?

  • "Handmade" items are designed and handcrafted by our small team in studio without the aid of factory machinery. 
  • Pieces from our handmade collection are unique, and each final product may differ slightly.
  • Some items may be customizable to your specific taste or needs. Check the description of a specific item for more detailed information!

What is a Vintage Item?

  • "Vintage" constitutes an item that was produced 20+ years ago. This can include pre-loved items, or brand new "deadstock" items.
  • We source all of our vintage items via sustainable means, hand-picking them from estate sales, yard sales, and local vendors,
  • With vintage, some signs of age are likely to be present in the garment, which will be noted in the description of the item along with a letter-grade rating of condition.
  • At Yore, most of our vintage stock is limited to 1, due to rarity. Hand-measured sizing can be found in every vintage listing.
  • Vintage items are final sale, and cannot be returned or exchanged.

What is an Upcycled Item?

  • "Upcycled" items are secondhand used and unused pieces that have been chosen for a second-chance at life, saved from the destination 85% of textiles will end up: the landfill!
  • We hand-embellish or alter a selection of the items to "upcycle" them into something that fits our brand, but some are perfect as they are!
  • We source all of our upcycled items via sustainable means, hand-picking them from estate sales, yard sales, and local vendors,
  • With upcycled pieces, some signs of age are likely to be present in the garment, which will be noted in the description of the item along with a letter-grade rating of condition.
  • At Yore, most of our upcycled stock is limited to 1, due to rarity. Hand-measured sizing can be found in every upcycled listing.
  • Upcycled items are final sale, and cannot be returned or exchanged.

When will x be back in stock?

  • We announce all of our restocks on Instagram, so that is where you can get the most up-to-date information on your most coveted items!

Will x be offered in extended sizing?

  • We try to offer extended sizing for as many items as we can, however the costs to do so are expensive, and it is difficult to find suppliers/manufacturers that are willing to produce extended sizing in the small batches that we need. That said, as we grow, so will our size range. Accessibility to all is an issue that we take very seriously, and want to accommodate.
  • Any item that features smocking/shirring will fit a larger range of sizes, so check out the hand-measured size charts of those items to see how they will work for you!
  • Many of our one-of-a-kind upcycled pieces are Plus and Petite friendly, just search the size you're looking for in the search bar. These pieces do tend to move fast though!

 

Orders

How long will my order take to get to me?

  • We typically process all standard orders within 1-2 days of receiving them. If your order is placed before 2pm PST, and does not contain a pre-order or handmade item, it could potentially be shipped out same day!
  • Once a package leaves our studio, domestic shipments within the US typically take 2-5 business days to arrive with standard delivery methods. International shipments typically take 1-2 weeks to arrive with standard delivery methods.
  • Express shipping is available for rush orders, and can arrive as soon as 1-2 days in the US, and 3-6 days internationally.

Can I make a change to my order?

  • If you request a change to your order details within 1-2 hours after placing the order, we should be able to accommodate you.

Can I cancel my order?

  • Cancellations can only be considered if the items have not yet been packed and shipped out. With our fast processing times, this is usually not possible.

Can I make a return/exchange?

  • In most cases yes, assuming you meet the criteria outlined in our return/exchange policy.
  • Vintage, Upcycled, and Handmade items cannot be returned or exchanged.
  • Sale items and Mystery Bags cannot be returned or exchanged. 
  • As a small business, we require the customer to cover return shipping costs, but there is no restocking fee on our end.

*Tip: to avoid a situation in which you would have to make a return or exchange, please read the size chart in each item's description, as we take the time to hand-measure every size of every item we offer, to ensure an accurate fit for our customers.
